In-Home Newborn & Family Photography in Dormont, PA: A Sweet Lifestyle Session

There is something truly magical about the quiet rhythm of a house in the days right after a new baby arrives. Sunlight spills through the windows, soft blankets are piled high, and every moment feels suspended in time.

I recently had the absolute joy of stepping into a beautiful home in Dormont to document one of those sweet, unscripted chapters for a family welcoming their newest addition—an 11-day-old baby girl.

From the second I walked in, the warmth in their home was palpable. We began in the bedroom, where large windows filled the space with soft, glowing light. Mom looked stunning in a simple neutral dress, holding her tiny daughter wrapped in a delicate pink onesie. Dad and big sister, both wearing shades of blue, snuggled close.

One of my favorite details of the morning was incorporating a gorgeous, handmade blanket made with love by grandma. Tucking baby girl into something crafted specifically for her added such a tender, personal layer to her very first portraits.

At three years old, big sister was an absolute dream. Toddlers can sometimes feel overwhelmed by the energy of a photo session, but she was entirely smitten with her new baby sister. Holding hands, soft snuggles, and proud smiles came so naturally to her. She made my job endlessly easy, proving that the sweetest sibling connection can't be posed—it just happens.

After spending time cozying up inside, we stepped out onto their back porch to capture a few photos as a complete family of four. Fresh air, bright natural light, and the familiar backdrop of their own home created the perfect setting to wrap up our time together.

It was an honor to document these fleeting first days for such a lovely Dormont family. Watching them love on their girls, laugh together on the porch, and settle into this new chapter was a beautiful reminder of why in-home lifestyle photography is so special.
