There is something so special about capturing a family's very first professional photo session together! Six months is one of the absolute best milestones to freeze in time—babies are starting to sit up, showing off their emerging personalities, and reaching those adorable sweet expression moments.


Recently, I met up with a lovely family of three at South Park for their first official family portrait session. Surrounded by peak October colors and crisp autumn air, it was the perfect setting to document this sweet season of parenthood!

Quintessential Fall Outfit Styling for Baby & Parents

When planning outfits for fall family pictures, choosing warm textures and complementary colors makes your photos pop against autumn leaves. This family put together a quintessential fall wardrobe:


  • Mom: Wore a gorgeous knit sweater dress, adding cozy texture and timeless elegance.

  • Dad: Styled a classic blue quarter-zip sweater with jeans, bringing a clean, structured look that anchored the family's palette.

Handling Nap Times & Baby Expressions

If you are a parent of an infant, you already know that schedule shifts happen! We actually had to wake sweet baby boy up right before our session started.


Parents often worry that a freshly awakened baby might mean a tough session, but infants are surprisingly resilient when kept comfortable and snuggly. Even though he gave us a serious, inquisitive look at first, he was calm, content, and relaxed the whole time. With a little patience, gentle tickles, and cozy family snuggles, we eventually coaxed out the sweetest smiles!
