Capturing Spring Vibes: A Mt. Lebanon Senior Session at Boyce Mayview Park

Spring in Pittsburgh is famously unpredictable. One day you’re enjoying a mild breeze, and the next, you’re reminded why we keep our winter coats easily accessible. Despite the unseasonably chilly May temperatures yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a rising senior from Mt. Lebanon High School at the stunning Boyce Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair.

If you are looking for the perfect mix of open fields, rustic structures, and vibrant spring greenery, this location remains one of the best spots in the South Hills for senior portraits.
Versatile Styles for a Spring Senior Session
One of the highlights of this session was the variety in styling. Planning multiple outfits is the best way to showcase different sides of a student's personality before they head into their final year of high school.
Classic & Sophisticated: We kicked things off with a timeless look—a blue striped dress paired with a crisp white cardigan. The blue really popped against the fresh spring leaves.

Casual & Relatable: Next, she transitioned into a classic "jeans and a white shirt" combo. This look is always a favorite because it feels authentic and allows the focus to stay entirely on the senior’s natural expressions.

School Spirit: To wrap up the day, she changed into her Mt. Lebanon cheerleading uniform. Incorporating extracurriculars like cheer, sports, or music is such a meaningful way to commemorate the high school experience.

Why Boyce Mayview Park is a Pittsburgh Favorite
Located right in Upper St. Clair, Boyce Mayview Park offers an incredible backdrop for photographers and seniors alike. Even with the unpredictable Pittsburgh weather, the park's natural beauty didn't disappoint.
The Fields and Shelters: We utilized the wooden shelters near the fields, which provided a great structural element to the photos.

Wildflowers and Greenery: The "spring green" in Pittsburgh is unlike any other. The wildflowers are starting to peek through, adding a soft, boho touch to the portraits.

Natural Lighting: Despite the cold, the light was soft and flattering, perfectly highlighting her easy-going and professional attitude. She was a total natural in front of the camera, making my job easy!
